CHIMES OF THE PHOENIX
Tuned Wind Chimes from the
Woodstock Signature Collection (WWPS)
Listen to the wonderful tones of this chime here.
This beautiful Chimes of The Phoenix is the smallest and thus the highest toned of the Windsinger chimesyet the quality still shows in its tones and resonance.
Fashioned after the original designs of Stephen Burnham, the look is boldly elegant and the sound is irresistibly beautiful. Made from extra thick-walled, specially suspended aluminum tubes, these chimes resonate much longer than any other chimes, producing enduring harmonies that are beyond compare.
Woodstock Windsinger Chimes are musically-tuned using an ancient system known as "just intonation" which produces the purest musical intervals. This chime is tuned to an ancient Chinese pentatonic scale and like the phoenix, its sound is a beautiful song.
In mythology, rebirth and renewal occur as the phoenix rises from ashes, singing a beautiful song. These contemporary chimes are tuned to a beautiful pentatonic scale. When they play in the wind, they will uplift your spirits.

WINDSINGER CHIMES -- Top of the Line:
The tubes of the Woodstock Windsinger Chimes are specially suspended and this lends itself to a sustained sound because the vibrations will not be dampened or die out too quickly. This is due to proper placement of the chime parts and the precise musical tuning of the tubes. The vibration of the chime tubes is enhanced and increased due to the calculated placement of chime parts and the super thick-walled aluminum tubes, thus the listener experiences more tones than seem possible given the number of tubes. This phenomenon, known as "combination tones" was first discovered by the 18th century composer, Giuseppe Tartini. When two or more musical sounds interact, the listener can hear other notes that are mathematically related to those notes. The more in tune the original notes are, the more harmonic (and therefore more pleasing) the combination tones are.
Maintenance: Every part of a Woodstock Chime is weather protected. Over time, however, those layers of protection can begin to wear. To enjoy your Woodstock Chimes for years to come, we suggest the following simple maintenance tips --
Periodically, apply a thin layer of Danish or lemon oil with a clean cloth to the hardwood parts. Regular oiling will help protect the wood and retard the natural aging process.
Woodstock Chimes tubes are made of anodized aluminum that will not rust when exposed to the elements. However, over time, the aluminum may show pitting as a result of environmental factors. Please note this will not affect the beautiful tones of your chimes. If necessary, use mild soap and water (or a foaming, non-abrasive cleanser) to clean the tubes. You can also use very fine #00 steel wool to polish and restore your aluminum tubes.
