PEACE SIGN Pendant Charm 100% Lead-Free Pewter & Leather Thong
Oberon Designs (OD-PD34)
The "Peace Sign" was born on 21 February, 1958 from the brain of Gerald Holtom, a professional designer and artist in Britain, for the April 4 march planned by the Direct Action Committee Against Nuclear War (DAC) from Trafalgar Square, London to the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment at Aldermaston in England. It became the emblem of, first, the 1960s anti-war movement, then the counterculture, and finally the popular culture of the time.
This finely detailed pendant in the form of the internationally recognized symbol for peace is a hand cast charm crafted in small batches of 6-8 at a time, using 100% lead free Britannia pewter, insuring the quality of the image and finish. The pendant is approximately 1 inch long, 7/8 inch wide.
Each pendant is strung on a genuine high quality leather thong, approximately 28 inches long. It's open ended, so you can choose the length you want as it ties easily at the back of the neck.
As these wares are hand-crafted, measurements may vary slightly due to individual uniqueness.
